My Kynd Reads

There’s nothing that fills my cup more than reading a good book on the beach in the sun.

Here are some books I loved and read this summer:

  • Stillness Is The Key - Ryan Holiday

Favourite quote: “If true peace and clarity are what you seek in life—and by the way, they are what you deserve—know that you will find them nearby and not far away. Turn into yourself.

Stand in front of the mirror. Get to know your front porch. You were given one body when you were born—don’t try to be someone else, somewhere else. Get to know yourself. Build a life you don’t need to escape from.”

  • Atomic Habits - James Clear

Favourite quote: “Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become. No single instance will transform your beliefs, but as the votes build up, so does the evidence of your new identity.

The good news if that you don’t need to be perfect. In any election, there are going to be votes for both sides. You don’t need a unanimous vote to win an election; you just need a majority. It doesn’t matter if you cast a few votes for a bad behaviour or an unproductive habit. Your goal is to simply win the majority of the time.”

  • Daring Greatly - Brené Brown

Favourite quote: “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.”

  • A New Earth - Eckhart Tolle

Favourite quote: “Let me say it again: the present moment is all you ever have.”

  • The Gifts of Imperfection - Brené Brown

Favourite quote: “If we want to live a Wholehearted life, we have to become intentional about cultivating sleep and play, and about letting go of exhaustion as a status symbol and productivity as self-worth.”
